What props to use for your branding photoshoot is an important part of the session.  Branding photoshoots bring out your personality and let your clients (or future clients) get to know you and give them a glimpse of what working with you will actually look like.  What props to use for your branding photoshoot is important.

The props to use for your branding photoshoot will help tell your brand story.  The right props can let your customers feel like they are getting a behind the scenes look into what you do and how working with you will feel.  *Bonus: it also gives you something to do with your hands during the photo shoot!

Here are some ideas to help you decide what kind of props to use for your personal branding photoshoot:

  1. Tools of your trade:  For example, if you are a florist it would make sense to use flowers, scissors, ribbons.  If you are a yoga instructor you could use your yoga mat, incense, prayer beads.
  2.  Items you use daily:  For example, your laptop, your cell phone, daily planner, notebook.
  3.  Fun items to show your personality:  Do you love traveling – bring your passport. Flowers, champagne, candy, balloons, artwork, mug with funny saying, etc…
  4. Seasonal Items:  Think ahead to other seasons and what you would like to post on social media for the holidays.  When the seasons change, you will be ready with content!

If you have any questions about what props to bring, consult with your branding photographer.  They will help you formulate a plan so you include all your props and your shoot flows nicely giving you months of content to use!
