Congrats on your engagement! Whether you found me from a trusted referral or through your own research I’m so glad you are here! After being a wedding photographer for years, I realized that I have a “one-up” on you as an engaged couple: I have been a part of MANY weddings, while you are planning this for the first time.  I thought it would be helpful if I put this document together to give you a better idea of my wedding photography process to help you understand what I do and, more importantly, why it benefits you.

Let’s Get to Know Each Other!

Why it’s not creepy: From our initial phone call to the day of your wedding I really try to get to know my couples. Believe me, there is a very non-creepy reason behind this. The more we know each other the more comfortable you will be working with me on your wedding day, at times you might even forget I am there, resulting in NATURAL expressions and moments!

Is that all you do? No way.  As much as I love documentary style photography on your day, I will also pose you during bride-groom portraits with the goal to make you look amazing and natural (not stuffy or too “posed”).  I also 100% pose every wedding party and family portrait so everyone looks frame-worthy!

I Create a Wedding Day Itinerary

But you’re not a planner, why?  I started creating wedding day itineraries for my own piece of mind but I found that couples LOVE them.  It is a blueprint of your day to not only insure all photo’s are organized, but you can also share this with your wedding party and family so they know where to be when – taking unneeded stress off of you!  If you have a planner, we work together of course 🙂

I create personalized cards where guests can view your photo’s

Why? Your wedding guests are just as excited to see your photo’s as you are!  So, instead of Aunt Susie calling you as soon as you get back from your honeymoon asking to see your photo’s, she will get an email when they are ready and can view and purchase any images herself.  I don’t make your gallery public until you have viewed the images first of course.

I make it relaxed and FUN!

Are you serious?  Dead serious.  There will be times throughout the day when I have to get a little bossy (in a polite way) to organize the group portraits and make sure we stay on schedule as much as possible.  Overall, I pride myself on being a calm person who believes it’s better to fix the problem instead of wasting time stressing myself (and you) about it.  After all, every moment of your wedding day should be a celebration, including the time spent taking photo’s!

Lisa Kay Photography was contacted by our program as we had clients seeking professional headshots. Needless to say, Lisa is charming, and her work is excellent. Lisa arrived at our location with her equipment, set up, and was ready to start the process    very timely as there was a considerable number of photos to take. You know..It's hard to find people now-a-days that just make you feel as if we've been friends for years. The conversations and topics I brought up during our 30min photo shoot was something Lisa was not ready for (ha)! but Lisa is READY. Very professional and Honest. I absolutely plan on booking her for future shoots. I would travel miles for her! Absolute pleasure!
