“What we find in a soulmate is not something wild to tame, but something wild to run with” – Robert Brault // Dan and Will’s Oriole Chicago Wedding and Kit Kat Brunch was a weekend I won’t soon forget!
How do I begin to explain the weekend that was Dan and Wills wedding? Saturday started with the couple getting ready at beautiful Peninsula Hotel with a bit of rain outside, which is good luck on your wedding day 🙂 Once ready we joined Dan and Wills families and all hopped on a Trolley provided by Premier Trolley Chicago. Bottles of Champagne were popped while we traveled to North Ave Beach for some photo’s. The weather was a bit rainy, and the fog hid the Chicago skyline from us, but nothing could wipe the smiles off these grooms faces! After the lake shore we visited Lincoln Park and took some beautiful photo’s at the Caldwell Lily Pond as well as the honeycomb structure. Our next stop was the Adler Planetarium where the grooms family got off the trolley and a group of their friends jumped on! We traveled on to the LaSalle Bridge, the Board of Trade Building and lastly the “secret location” in the West Loop: an abandoned train station covered with colorful murals (yaaaas!). We got so many great photo’s, it was a dream come true for me!
Dan and Will planned a spectacular dinner at Oriole restaurant, a Michelin star restaurant located in the West Loop. The couple had an intimate Oriole Chicago wedding ceremony officiated by a close family friend. The ceremony was full of joy, laughter and tears. It’s still amazing to me to be witness when true soulmates find each other. The couple and guest ate and drank the night away.
The celebration was far from over as the Dan and Will had asked all their friends and family (and me!) to join them the day after the wedding at the Kit Kat Lounge for the famous drag show brunch! The mimosas were flowing the beautiful drag queen, Madam X, put on a spectacular show and a good time was had by all!
This was a weekend full of family, friendship, laughter and so much love! Dan and Will, thank you SO MUCH for letting me capture your love story! XOXO – Lisa Kay
