“Getting lost in you was the best adventure I have ever had” – Gemma Troy // This quote reminded me of Kate and Sean’s romantic intimate New Buffalo Wedding which I had the pleasure to photograph this past July.
When I first spoke with Kate she told me that she originally didn’t want a wedding at all and was drawn to the bio on my website where I applaud unconventional couples. She further explained that her and Sean were planning a very unconventional New Buffalo wedding. The bride’s exact quote was “I want a nice vacation with our closest friends and family with a wedding in the middle.” YES! I love couples who really stick to their guns and have their OWN wedding, weather it be conventional or completely unconventional – make it yours! Kate and Sean told me that they were planning to rent a home in New Buffalo, Michigan and everyone was going to stay for a week and right smack dab in the middle of the week they would get married on the property. The home they selected was Dwell Vacations Apple Blossom House and it was absolutely stunning! For the couple’s New Buffalo wedding, the grooms sister was the officiant and they were surrounded by 30 of their closest friends and family members. After the ceremony the guests enjoyed cocktails and a fabulous dinner catered by Limelight Catering. Note: photos of appetizers usually do not make by blog posts – but Limelight’s are just beautiful pieces of art! As the sun went down I stole the couple away for some amazing portraits with the sun shining through the trees — golden hour score! At the very end of the night the guests lined up for a sparkler exit and those are some of my favorite shots of the night! Kate and Sean, thank you SO much for letting me capture your vacation/wedding! Hugs, Lisa
