“I just called to say I love you” – Stevie Wonder // I can’t help but use this adorably cheesy quote for Ariana and Aaron’s anniversary photo session.
I photographed this couples beautiful City Hall elopement almost one year ago in downtown Chicago. Ariana contacted me to ask if I could do another photo shoot for the couples anniversary and I jumped at the chance!
It’s common for me to get to know my couples and end up following each other via social media after weddings. Ariana is a busy event planner and this past year she also started a Christian women’s blog as well! (Seriously go follow her HERE for girl-boss inspiration for dayz!) Aaron is a talented musician who plays bass guitar all over Chicago. The one thing that I have noticed is that this couple FULLY supports each other in every new endeavor the other takes on. There are always comments on Ariana’s insta saying things like “proud of you babe” – and it makes me smile. These two have figured out what I believe to be one of the keys to a great marriage: being each others biggest cheerleaders. Sometimes it’s a small comment and other times it’s going out to see the other perform when you would rather stay home. It’s these little things that mean SO much.
This anniversary photo session was so.much.fun! Ariana and I share a love of all the colorful murals all over Chicago and she had her eye on the new one on the Columbia College campus. It was perfect. I even got some great shots of Ariana for her blog while Aaron captured the “behind the scenes” – good husband award for the day!
