“Life is meant for spectacular adventures. Let your feet wander, your eyes marvel, and your soul ignite.” – Unknown // Thomas and John David are world travelers and this quote seemed fitting for their London House Wedding.
I met Thomas and John David via Skype (because they both travel for work quite a bit) and chatted about their upcoming Chicago London House wedding plans. The couple explained that they didn’t want a large wedding but rather something small, intimate and classy. From the venues to the laid back feel, I believe they pulled it off spectacularly!
The day started with a small ceremony in front of a few select friends and family at Avec restaurant in the West Loop of Chicago. Thomas and John David both read personalized vows to each other that were both heartwarming and hilarious (the best combination). After the ceremony the guests sat down to a wonderful rustic mediterranean brunch. The couple planned a few hours for a break in between the brunch and the reception so guests could either relax or sightsee a bit of Chicago. That evening everyone changed into formal attire and the reception was held at the amazing London House Chicago. We had the opportunity to take photo’s in the famous London House Cupola, a giant round stone structure that hovers above the Chicago Riverwalk. The guests ate, drank and took in the amazing views as the sun went down on the Riverwalk and the lights of Chicago lit up. I even tried my hand at a double exposure image with the Chicago night skyline and the couples wedding rings – for a first attempt I must say I kinda dig that image!
Thomas and John David, I cannot thank you enough for letting me capture your amazing wedding day! Cheers to many more travels in your new life as husband and husband! XO, Lisa
