“The first time I saw you my heart whispered “that’s the one” // This quote seemed so fitting for Natalie and Ben’s Chicago Urban Wedding.
As a wedding photographer you don’t always have control over the images that you create. I adore each and every one of my brides and grooms, I really do, but real talk is that my amazing couples usually book venues and photo locations that are bright and colorful and just really ‘pretty’. I have been itching to photograph a really gritty Chicago Urban Wedding for sooooo long! Enter in an amazing makeup artist named Natalie that I have worked with on multiple projects and she is so nice and let’s face it gorgeous! I asked her if her and her husband would want to help me out with my vision of an Chicago Urban wedding for a styled shoot and she said “yes”! Score! Next I was on the mission to find a bridal boutique who carried the boho inspired look I wanted for my Chicago urban wedding shoot. When I was referred to Honey Bridal through a friend they were so great when I contacted them. Finally I wanted a gorgeous bright flowing bridal bouquet and a matching flower crown for my bride – Dahlia Blooms hit the ball out of the park for the floral arrangement! I took Natalie and Ben to River North because I really wanted to utilize Franklin Street under the L tracks. While there we spotted an alley that had this old amazing brick and my heart soared! Next we walked over to the amazing colorful flamingo mural that is on the side of Flamingo Rum Club. We ended the shoot at the Chicago River with the sun going down – it was perfect. A HUGE thank you to all of my amazing vendors involved, thank you for all of your help! x0, Lisa
