“They say a picture is worth a thousand words, but when I look at you all I can see is three…I love you” – Unknown // This quote seems perfect for Brittany & Grant’s St James Farm engagement session (featuring Bear the dog!)
It is that time of year when all of my couples who are getting married in 2019 are scheduling their engagement sessions. Although Brittany and Grant are actually getting married in December of 2018, because of their winter wedding, they wanted a summer feel to their St James Farm engagement session. We literally rescheduled twice because of weather so when the day arrived and it was all blue skies and absolutely gorgeous they totally deserved it! When I met with Brittany and Grant I tried to get a feel for where they might want their engagement photo’s and Brittany said she loved a “rustic but not farm” feel to it (but I did sneak a barn in there, sorry girl). As I was researching locations I ran across St James Farm Forest Preserve in Winfield. This is no ordinary forest preserve, this place is amazing! It has trails, open fields, lines of tall trees and historic equestrian and dairy buildings that are super cool! Brittany and Grant wanted to bring their dog, Bear, along for the fun and this location is super dog-friendly as well! There is a theme with my engagements this year of dogs stealing the spotlight…and I’m not hating my new furry clients one bit! 🙂 Brittany and Grant were amazing to work with, super laid back and up for all my crazy idea’s, also a shout-out to their friend Ashley, who helped wrangle Bear when we were doing just couple shots. I had such a great time on this beautiful day, thanks so much guys! xo, Lisa
