“Forever is a long time, but I wouldn’t mind spending it by your side.” // As a Chicago proposal photographer I witness absolutely amazing moments, this Millennium Park proposal was no exception.
Caleb contacted me one summer day and said “I know it’s extremely short notice, but is there anyway that you are available this Friday to photograph my proposal to my girlfriend in Millennium Park?” The beauty of being a Chicago proposal photographer is that when I get a call last minute and I’m free I enthusiastically say yes! I worked with Caleb to map out every detail to his proposal to his girlfriend, Dana. The couple lives in South Illinois and was coming to Chicago for the weekend for a special trip and Caleb wanted to take advantage of the Chicago views to pop the question so they really had something to celebrate in the Windy City 🙂 Caleb and I organized the exact time he would be walking up to the Bean AKA Cloudgate, I just hung out like a tourist (not a Chicago proposal photographer) snapping photo’s of the bean and waited for the couple. Key for all aspiring Chicago proposal photographers: Caleb had emailed me photo’s of the two of them so I knew who I was looking for – a must for this kind of shoot! After the proposal it actually started POURING rain and the couple wanted to change in their hotel room, so they invited me up for a glass of wine to celebrate (how sweet). After the rain cleared I took the couple out to Olive Park to get some engagement photo’s of them. It was a gorgeous day and a perfect start to their Chicago weekend don’t you think? Caleb and Dana, I wish you the best as you start your new chapter together, rain or shine 🙂 x0 – Lisa
