“Your heart and my heart are very, very old friends” – Hafez // Christie and Mark’s Chicago Olive Park Engagement session was so much fun!
I met Christie and Mark this past summer when they booked me for their August 2019 wedding. When we discussed the location for the couples Chicago engagement photos they said they would love to capture the skyline and some of the city. I suggested a number of locations from my favorite places to shoot engagements (see my list here). The couples Chicago Olive Park engagement was the perfect location for the skyline views they wanted. Olive Park has everything – the skyline, the lake, a gorgeous tree lined sidewalk and nature. Can we just talk about how beautiful the golden light was that evening? The skyline above Lake Michigan was the perfect backdrop for Christine and Mark to get romantic 🙂
After Olive Park we headed into the city to take some shots along the Chicago Riverwalk as well as the Chicago Theatre. During my engagement sessions I always keep my eyes open for any new creative shots and when we passed the wall with the ivy growing on it I had to take advantage. I love to give my couples two to three completely different backdrops for their engagement photo’s. Christie and Mark are not only such a stunning couple, but they are so much fun! Some of the photo’s of the couple laughing together are my favorite!
I absolutely love chatting and getting to know couples during their engagement shoot. It gives us all time to get to know one another as well as give them a preview of how my photography style and how their wedding day photos will be!
