“You are my laughter and the reason people ask me why I’m smiling when I don’t even realize it” – a.r. asher // This is the perfect quote for Jessa and Carlito’s colorful Logan Square engagement session.
When I spoke to Jessa and Carlito about possible locations for their engagement session they mentioned that they loved colorful murals (yas) and more of a gritty Chicago neighborhood feel (yas). I knew immediately that we should head to Logan Square and I also knew that I was going to just love this shoot. Before their shoot I went to Logan Square to scope out the latest murals because they change all the time. When we arrived, all of the murals that I had scoped out and sent Jessa photos of had already been painted over…oops. It was all good though, because the new murals were just as amazing and we had such a fun time walking around and exploring! Some of my favorites images from this Logan Square engagement were the amazing Mr. Rogers mural (how amazing is that?) and the shots under the L train. Like many couples Jessa and Carlito were a bit nervous in the beginning, because as expected, it’s nerve wracking having a strange person with a camera in your face asking you to “nuzzle the side of her face” or “keep staring at each other just a bit longer” 🙂 I really try to make my couples feel comfortable and tell them it’s SO normal to be nervous! You can just tell that Jessa and Carlito have so much fun together, look at that laughter! I’m so in love with the colors, the grittiness and the laughter in these images! Big thanks to Jessa and Carlito for letting me capture your Logan Square engagement session, congrats once again and cheers to your wedding in 2019! -Lisa
