If you have followed my work for any amount of time now you are well aware that I love intimate weddings! Meredith reached out to me and explained that her and her fiancé, Neil, were planning to get married at Chicago City Hall. The couple originally did not plan to have a photographer present (gasp). Luckily, one of Meredith’s wise friends told her she should hire a photographer for the event 🙂
After Meredith and Neil’s short but sweet ceremony at Chicago City Hall we walked around the city to take some photo’s. It was a particularly frigid day in February and this couple really took one for the team! You can tell how cold it was by the ice chunks on the Chicago River!
I always like to ask my couples how they met and Meredith and Neil have such a romantic story! They met in China when they were both there for business. Meredith is originally from Chicago and Neil is from Australia. Meredith is still working in China and this is one of the reasons for their Chicago elopement. Being a married couple will make it easier for Neil to go back to China and be with his (now) wife. They explained that they plan to have a larger wedding in the future with family and friends (location TBD). I loved wondering the city with Meredith and Neil to document their first wedding.
