“The best kind of love is the kind that awakens the soul, that makes us reach for more, that plants the fire in our hearts and brings peace to our minds” // Megan and Andrews Chicago city hall elopement was full of sunshine, romance and belly laughs: a great recipe to start a marriage 🙂
Megan reached out to me a few months ago asking if I was available to photograph her Chicago city hall elopement in early June. If you follow my work on a regular basis, you know that I adore Chicago city hall weddings and jumped at the chance to work with Megan and Andrew. I got to know the couple as we worked together and realized that Megan and Andrew are from just outside St. Louis and were coming in for the week to get married and enjoy our great city. Megan and Andrew volunteer at an animal shelter and are proud parents to their own rescue pups, I only wish they could have been included in the couples wedding photos 🙂
I have photographed quite a few Chicago city hall elopements so I recommended that the couple meet me at 9:00am when the marriage court opens to avoid a line. After the ceremony we explored the city from Lurie Garden to the Chicago Theatre this couple was so much fun to work with! The couple looked fantastic – Megans ADORABLE short white lace dress with the full tulle skirt and Andrew in his dapper suit and kicks. Two of the photo’s I love the most are (1) the couple in front of Chicago iconic “L” train and (2) when I asked Andrew if Megan was ticklish it was like he was waiting all day for this moment – the natural laughter is so freaking adorable! Megan and Andrew, thank you so much for letting me capture you amazing Chicago city hall elopment! Big Hugs! -Lisa
