“The only thing I want to change about you is that ringless finger on your left hand” // This quote is so perfect for Chip and Adam’s Cancer Survivor Garden Wedding.
Chip and Adam were going to elope when they called me. They had made up their minds that they would go to the courthouse and get married by a judge. I love me some Chicago courthouse weddings, but as I explained the process to Chip he said that he would talk with his fiancĂ© and get back with me about the final plan. When Chip called me back he asked for a rate for additional hours because the wedding had completely changed gears. It was still going to be intimate but they also did want to invite select friends and family and make it a celebration! The day started at Chip and Adam’s apartment while the grooms got ready and had a glass of champagne before we all jumped into a trolley to head to the Cancer Survivors Garden near Maggie Daley Park. It was the perfect location as Chip and Adam said their personal vows to each other and Adams cousin officiated.
I really got to know Chip and Adam as we took the trolley around the city to get photo’s – I now consider these men my dear friends! We started at Olive Park to incorporate the Chicago skyline and the Navy Pier Ferris Wheel in their photos. Next stop was Kenzie Bridge where Chip and Adam looked dapper in their tuxes with the gritty bridge. Last stop was a colorful mural in the grooms own Lakeview neighborhood -this is one of my favorite shots of the grooms! These grooms absolutely compliment each other in all the best ways finishing each others sentences and joking about how they first met. I cannot thank Chip and Adam enough for letting me be a part of their cancer survivor garden wedding. xo, Lisa
